Chotto Xenos: A FREE Digital Dance Project for Primary 4-7 and Secondary 1-2

Edinburgh International Festival are thrilled to give schools across Scotland free and exclusive access to see Akram Khan Company’s incredible dance production, Chotto Xenos.

This filmed production will be available online from the 18 August to 30 November. A mesmerising exploration of colonial soldiers in World War One, this production addresses themes of colonialism, racism, and the physical and emotional impact of being at war.

Alongside the production, the Festival is also pleased to offer a comprehensive teaching resources with historical context, activities, and Curriculum for Excellence guidance, as well as digital CPD sessions delivered by Akram Khan Company. Exploring Chotto Xenos with your class will work on its own or could form part of your teaching during Black History Month or around Armistice Day. It will support areas of creativity and expressive arts, health and wellbeing, and social studies.
