Making Music is the UK’s membership organisation for leisure-time music, with over 3,600 groups representing around 200,000 music makers across the UK. We are dedicated to empowering everyone, whatever their background or experience, to come together in their community to make or present their kind of music.
In Scotland, we represent around 250 member groups, making music in communities across the country, from Stornoway to Dumfries. Our members are volunteer-led organisations, embedded in their local area and offering opportunities to youth and adult musicians to come together to play, sing and listen to music. They are orchestras, concert bands, choirs, ukulele ensembles, samba bands, concert promoters…
Making Music speaks for our members and is happy to be consulted on creating educational and leisure time opportunities for young learners with our membership. We can also connect you with the groups in your own community who could provide performances, workshops or onward learning experiences for learner musicians.
