As Scotland’s Centre for Photography, Stills provides a unique range of expertise, facilities and services which explore the medium of Photography, contemporary visual arts practice and society.
Our priorities are to develop more opportunities for artists, in Scotland and Internationally, and to involve more people in these activities.
Our Developing Practice programme of commissions, residencies, exhibitions, screenings and events provides insights into the motivations of professional artists and the contexts within which their works resonate.
Stills works with a team of independent artists to provide specialist training as part of our Teaching and Learning programme. We work closely with groups and individuals and the Education sector to produce new modules for the development of technical skills and the study of contemporary culture.
