The Stove Network
The Stove is a public arts centre in the heart of Dumfries town centre. It is run by a collective of local artists and groups and individuals who produce a programme of creative events, exhibitions and workshops – both on-site and off-site.
We have five strands of activity:
• Brave New Words – written and spoken word
• Reel to Real –everything from photography to film via digital animation and art projections etc
• Music –regular platforms for emerging local bands as well as workshops in sound engineering and music publishing etc
• Food –food education and creativity with our own café and local food producers at the heart
• Future Vision – creative projects that support people to take an active part in making the future of the places they live in.
We run a specific programme for young people to develop their interest, skills and future in the arts. This is called Young Stove and has open drop-in nights every Tuesday.
